Winter holidays in Sölden - Ötztal
Sölden, nestling at the heart of Ötztal, is not only one of Tirol's most popular tourist locations, but also ranks among the most famous winter sports destinations in the Alps. And for good reason as the "Hot Spot in the Alps" impresses with countless superlatives. Sölden is the world’s first ski resort to start winter already in October. It is the only ski area in Austria to have 3 peaks higher than three thousand meters, called the BIG3, which are accessible by mountain lifts, and Rettenbach and Tiefenbach Glaciers are also among the largest glacier ski areas in Austria. The "007 Elements" James Bond adventure world or the ice Q gourmet restaurant on the summit of Gaislachkogl rank among the undisputed highlights. Also off the beaten slopes Ötztal offers fabulous winter experiences. In addition to cleared winter walking trails, toboggan runs, cross-country ski tracks and endless ski touring opportunities, quaint mountain huts await you - where authentic Tirolean coziness and nature enjoyment are in the center of attention.
Out and about on your toboggan
Winter fun for young and old
With a length of 7.3 km, the new toboggan run in Sölden is one of the longest toboggan runs in Austria. Thanks to its easy route, it is suitable for families as well as for less experienced tobogganists. Once a week the toboggan run from Gaislachkogl middle station is illuminated in the evening and promises fun-packed night tobogganing. Hotelappart Peter and Haus Stefanie can be found in the immediate vicinity of the toboggan run which is easily and comfortably accessible.
